The Ideation Lab

Stop polishing the idea.
Go and test it.

In one sitting, a rough idea becomes something you can put in front of real people this week: who it’s for, the words they actually use, what to charge, and the smallest test that tells you the truth. You make every real decision. It does the research, the drafting and the arithmetic.

You start at draft eight, not draft zero. Months of circling, done in an afternoon, so the real answer comes from the market instead of from your own head.

Why ideas stall

The idea never dies. It just never gets tested.

You rewrite the pitch. You buy the domain. You ask people who love you whether they’d buy it, and they say yes, because they love you. Months pass and you still have no idea whether a stranger would pay. The gap is never the idea. It is the distance between the idea and the first real conversation with someone who might buy it.

01The blank page

You start from a draft, not from nothing.

It generates real directions from what you already have, pressure-tests each against your hours and your hard lines, and shows the reasoning. You choose the one to build out. What it will not do is tell you which is best, because a real test decides that, not a score.

In one real session
15directions generated, then narrowed against her constraints before she picked one
In the same session
17customer quotes checked at their source, out of 20 found, with the unverified three kept separate and labelled
02Guessing at the words

Their language, not your description of it.

It searches the live web for the way these people already talk about the problem, then goes back and checks each quote at the page it came from. Anything it cannot stand behind is marked as unverified rather than quietly mixed in. Your copy gets built from the checked ones.

03The number you flinch at

A price with the arithmetic shown.

One price, floored against what an hour of your time actually costs and how many you have. The working is on the page, so you can disagree with the inputs instead of just feeling uneasy about the number. And it checks that delivering it still fits inside the week you said you had.

What comes out
Oneprice, with the floor arithmetic and the capacity check beside it
What you leave with

Not a document to admire.
A test you can run on Thursday.

01

The smallest real test

Not a survey and not a landing page with a waitlist. The smallest thing that makes someone give up money, time, or a real commitment, because only that counts.

02

Where to find them

The specific places these people already gather, and whether each one actually allows you to ask for the sale there.

03

What counts as a yes

Pass, keep going, or stop: written down before you run it, so the result gets graded against what you decided beforehand.

Then it keeps going

The session is the start. The loop is the product.

01

Go and run it

You put it in front of real people and find out what actually happens, instead of asking friends what they think.

02

Come back and say what happened

Log who you spoke to and what they said. Your own read goes on the record first, before it offers one.

03

Change one thing

You choose the single change. The parts that depend on it get rewritten, the rest stays, and the idea moves to its next version with a line saying why.

The head start

It does the work, not the homework.

The Launch System is the full path from idea to first sale. A single Lab session finishes a real part of it and writes the work back into your plan, so you carry on from where you actually are rather than starting the map again.

In one real session: 27 of the Launch System’s 51 steps closed, about 71 hours of work and reading. Counted the way a first attempt actually goes, and nothing counted for a step the session did not finish.

27 of 51 steps behind you before you have spent a thing

How it behaves

It informs. You decide.

You pick, every time

It never chooses your direction or your customer for you. It lays out what it found, shows its reasoning, and hands you the call.

Real quotes, checked

Customer language is mined from the live web and checked at the source, so your copy uses their words instead of ours.

A price you can argue with

One price, floored against your real hours and costs, with the arithmetic on the page so you can push back on it.

Built around your limits

Your hours and your hard lines are treated as absolute. A plan that quietly overdraws you is worse than no plan.

Change anything

Every section can be rewritten by asking. Change one thing and it tells you what else no longer agrees.

It shows its work

Each stage lists what was actually checked, with the counts, so you can see the rigor rather than take our word for it.

Worth saying plainly

It can be wrong. That is the point.

Everything it hands you is a researched starting point, not a finding. The research is real and the quotes are checked, and it can still be wrong about your market, because no amount of desk work knows what a stranger will pay. That is exactly why the session ends with a test instead of a verdict. The market decides. This just gets you in front of it in days rather than months.

You could know by Friday.
Or you could keep wondering.

The Ideation Lab is part of your Launch Pad membership. Bring the idea you have been carrying around, or bring nothing at all.
